The St. Louis County SAVES™ Residential Energy Efficiency Loan Program makes saving energy at home easy, affordable, and smart. A St. Louis County SAVES™ authorized contractor will help you choose the right projects to make your home more comfortable and more energy efficient, and you can get started right here.

A home energy assessment is recommended as the best way to learn how your home is currently performing and provides a roadmap for a whole home upgrade to maximize your energy savings. Learn more about the value of home energy assessments here:

St. Louis County SAVES™ Home Energy Loan Fast Facts

Residential Energy Efficiency Loans

Residential Energy Efficiency Loans - Unsecured, personal loan

Eligible Properties - Owner-occupied, single-family homes

Individual Eligibility Requirements - FICO score ≥ 660; Debt-to-income ratio < 45%

Loan Amounts - $2,500 to $15,000

Loan Term - Flexible up to 10 years

Loan Rates - 3.5% interest rate; APR will vary based on 3% loan fee and term. See Payment Estimator for more information.

Eligible Improvements - Energy-saving improvements pre-qualified by the County's program, such as air sealing, insulation and high efficiency HVAC and water heating equipment

After securing pre-approval for a St. Louis County SAVES™ Home Energy Loan the next step is to find an authorized energy assessment provider to help you identify qualifying improvements and initiate the loan application process.

Note: St. Louis County SAVES™ does not endorse any particular contractor, but maintains a directory of contractors that have applied and been authorized to participate in the program. While the contractors in our directory have met certain requirements for participation, you will be entering into a direct relationship with the contractor of your choice and it is important that you review their credentials, qualifications, and references to make an informed decision. Please also note that the Program does not warrant any of the work performed and that you are responsible for working directly with your selected contractor to ensure that all work is performed to your satisfaction.
